37.1 QUEEN STREET RESTORATION

Taking care of our built heritage is a worthwhile endeavour to maintain the historic fabric of Port of Spain. While many building owners might take an easy shortcut and merely repaint the structure, full credit goes to Gregory Aboud for ensuring a proper job by engaging acla:works architects to consult on the restoration of this fine building at the corner of Queen & Abercromby Streets. Apart from major structural improvements the restoration consists of attention to details such as the scoring of the exterior walls, the design of metal gates and structural supports, the replacement of doors and windows and choice of colours. The end result is worthwhile.
